New do and a freakout

Yep, I went and got my hair cut today. I hadn’t gotten it cut since January and there were no layers in it so it was weighing me down. When I get a thought in my head I just have to get it done so when I decided to get my hair cut today I thought “what am I supposed to do with the girls? I have no babysitter…” So, we went to the Dollar Store first and got a treat and a toy for each of them then to the book store to buy them each a book to look at. They sat in the waiting room and were pretty well behaved for the entire time I was in there! I was really surprised. LOL No pics though…sorry!

OMGoodness I just had a scare…I was getting Kaylee dried off from being in the wading pool so she was n.a.k.e.d and Kristen wanted me to take her training wheels off of her bike, so I went outside and watched her go on her friends bike so I would know for sure that she could do it, and when I went to go inside to get the wrench to take them off…I couldn’t open the door. Kaylee had closed it and locked the deadbolt. Crap! So, I realized I could get in the patio door because it was open, but there are no stairs to our deck and it is one story up (our shed is underneath it). I went to my neighbor that is back behind us and asked him if he had a ladder. He said he could just climb up and go through the house to open the door. Once he got up to the deck I went around front and waited for him to open the door. It was taking a while (all the while Kaylee inside crying and freaking out, n.a.k.e.d when this strange man comes onto the deck) so I went and opened the door…went upstairs and I heard him saying to Kaylee that he was going to go let me in…Kaylee had unlocked the door sometime between me leaving the front door to get my neighbor and him climbing onto the deck. Ugh! I told him I was sorry and thanks anyway! LOL I hope Kaylee learned her lesson…no closing doors while Mommy is outside! Whew! What a day!

She doesn't need therapy!

Speech therapy that is. Kaylee was a late talker and because of that, the pediatrician we were referred to for her growth wanted us to have a speech consultation to see what they say. Well, that was when Kaylee was 18 months old and she’s almost 3 now, so the therapist said Kaylee is doing just great and only needs to work on not cutting her words short (i.e saying “nana” instead of “banana”) So we just have to go back in 6 months to see how she’s doing and that’s it! Kaylee knows way more than I thought she did. She knew the difference between “he” & “she” and if something does not have something (point to the chicken that does NOT have any eggs). I didn’t really think she knew that stuff.

Also, yesterday we lost Kaylee’s soothers (pacifiers) and when nap time came we still didn’t have them so she took her nap sootherless. It went fine and even though Barry found her soothers before bedtime, we let on that they were still lost so she went to bed without them again. Now for her nap today she doesn’t have them and hasn’t been crying, but I have had to go up there a few times because she just won’t go to sleep! Keeps playing! I really like my time alone while she’s sleeping, so she can’t stop taking naps! She just can’t! LOL

It's over :(

Well, the potty training is over, and it isn’t for the reason you think. We have decided to stop training for now and resume near the end of the summer. Kaylee can’t tell when she is going to pee at this point, which makes it pointless to even try. Right? How can we successfully get her to pee on the potty each time without an accident if she doesn’t know when it’s going to happen? Maybe we’re just being a bit lax on the subject, but I was tired of wiping up accident after accident. I’m not over-exaggerating…she had about 7-8 accidents within a 5 minute span! It’s like she’d sit down to pee and realize what’s happening so she’d jump up, thus stopping the pee. Since she didn’t fully empty, she did it again, on the floor, over and over again. Ugh!

Not going so good

So potty training isn’t going as well as I thought. Today it took her a few hours to pee (which is really unusual) but before she did that she was crying and asking for a diaper. I stood my ground and told her no and finally she peed on the potty but freaked when it started coming out. That didn’t happen yesterday! I was tired of her peeing on the couch so I went to look for Kristen’s waterproof pad to put on top of her bean bag chair for her to sit on and while I did that (didn’t find it) she had about 5 accidents and was freaking out crying so I put a diaper on her. :( We’ll see after her nap how it goes.

Potty training

We (I) just started trying to potty train Kaylee today and so far it is going good I think. She’s gone on the potty 4 times, but has peed on the floor about 8 times. LOL I’m so proud of her though! Within about an hour of taking off her diaper she peed in the potty! Go Kaylee! Right now she’s sleeping so she’s wearing a pull-up, but as soon as she wakes up it’s coming off. Kristen is going with my ILs for the next few days so it’ll be easier to deal with it I’m sure. Kristen keeps wanting to sit in front of Kaylee while she’s on the potty and bug her until she doesn’t want to do it anymore stare at her.

I did get to scrap some in the past few days. The first 3 layouts were done with pics I took while we were visiting my parents last week.

Back from "vacation"

We went to visit my parents on Saturday for 5 days and just got home last night. We had a lot of fun, but it would've been more fun if we had the money to go shopping. LOL Here are some pics of Canada Day (& one of my brother & SILs new doggie Sophie, a german shepard/ husky mix)

We went to a parade in a nearby village and since my grandparents live really close to the route and I wanted to visit my grandfather anyway, we parked there, went to the parade then visited afterward. My mom got the girls matching t-shirts to wear for the day. We had a BBQ with my family, but everyone forgot to take pics so there's nothing to show for that. LOL

Here's a layout I made a few weeks ago but couldn't post until the kit came into the store.
